Jurgen Klopp rules out Liverpool bid for Napoli Forward Lorenzo Insigne

Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool will not sign Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne. The Italy international has been linked with both Liverpool and Chelsea this week ahead of the summer transfer window. But the Liverpool manager is adamant that the 27-year-old will not be heading to Anfield.

‘We will not sign Lorenzo Insigne,’ said Klopp. ‘He’s a very good player but I guess he has a long-term contract at and we will not even try it, so that’s all I can say about this.’ Jurgen Klopp has ruled out a busy summer in the transfer window for Liverpool (AMA/Getty Images)

Asked how he improves his side after Liverpool’s excellent season, Klopp replied: ‘It’s always more difficult the better you get. ‘It’s a good sign because with transfers we’re not there to exite everyone the people out there. ‘The job is to improve the team, there’s different ways, there’s training and actually I think that’s the best way to do it. ‘Our plans are not for the public. ‘Will it be the biggest transfer window for Liverpool? No. Probably not, but I think you’d be surprised if I’d said yes.’
