Powerful Northeners Set To Block Tinubu, Entire Southeast From The 2023 Presidency

The ambition of Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and some politicians hailing from the South Eastern region of Nigeria to be President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor in 2023 may be thwarted after a declaration by the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore.

Daily Post reports that the the group’s National President, Abdullahi Bodejo, in a statement to journalists said it will be hard for an Igbo person to become Nigeria’s president because of the derogatory way Northerners are treated in the region.

He went on to say he knows Tinubu can’t be Buhari’s successor because not only is the APC National leader old, but he is not a “masquerade” as many Yoruba people make him out to be.

Part of the statement read:

“Do you know that if you go to some parts of the South, if they see an Hausa man, they would say he is a boko haram member, or derogatorily, they will say ‘Onye Hausa. That kind of hatred has been there among some Southerners.

“It will be difficult for the Igbos to rule this country, because they have something in their mind that is not good. The country is more than a tribe coming to hate some ethnic region, religion, and so on. They should know that Nigeria is one.

“I have told you that 2015 is now history. Even me talking to you now, do you know the role I played in 2015? People played all manner of politics in 2015, and Tinubu was not the only person. What I know is that Tinubu cannot be the President of Nigeria. That is the truth. He is very old, and maybe older than President Buhari.

“Some people see Tinubu like one big masquerade, but he is not. Some think that he is the Yoruba Leader, but he is not. He is also like Obasanjo; some people see the former President as a small god, but he is not. In my last interview before the election, I said it that Obasanjo has only one vote, like any other person.

“What happened? Did it not turn out like that? Everybody’s eyes are already open now. If Tinubu is recognised by the Yoruba people as their Leader, why did Buhari score 50 percent there? Why did he not ask them to give him like even 60 percent, at least? Tinubu has failed, and that is the truth. Or are you telling me that Tinubu did anti-party activities, by telling the South-West to share the votes 50/50 to APC and PDP?”

On the negative perception of the group and what attracted him, Meshioye said: “I wanted to understand my culture, to know why I am here. Why was I not born in India as a Hindu or in China to embrace their culture and religion? This made me to begin to look within myself to know who I am and I extended this to what I have within my area. I am a firm believer in the Yoruba saying, ‘Animo ni peregun laso’ meaning you add to whatever you have. Air Peace De-board Passenger For Asking Attendant To Translate Safety Instructions To Igbo Because 'He Does Not Speak English'

Iwarah declared that his de-boarding was necessary in a bid to guarantee the safety of its crew and customers and said it would not tolerate an act that would jeopardise safety on any of its flights. A passenger with Air Peace was today de-boarded by the airline over claims that he could not communicate in English during safety briefing. The passenger identified as Mr. Christopher Aniagboso told the cabin crew to translate the safety briefing for passengers in the over-wing exit seats in Igbo language and not English as is the standard. The airline in a statement by its spokesman, Mr. Chris Iwarah, said that other passengers around him offered to translate what was being said in English to him, but he insisted that the crew must brief him in Igbo language. Besides, Iwarah said that efforts to relocate the unruly passenger from his seat to the other proved abortive despite the intervention of the cockpit crew. He, however, said that the passenger who had earlier on May
