Bloody Betrayal: Buhari Leaves Fashola In Shock, As Name Is Left Out Of New Ministerial List

It has been reported that the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, is reportedly missing on President Muhammadu Buhari’s list of new ministers.

Recall that the former Lagos State governor was appointed a minister in 2015 and had been tagged “super minister” after becoming the first Nigerian to head three ministries. However, why some expect Fashola to return as a minister in Buhari’s “Next Level“, a new report claims his name is missing on the list.

According to Jackson Ude, a former Director of Strategy/Communication under former President Goodluck Jonathan, Fashola is lobbying to return as minister having missed out on the list of new Buhari’s Ministers being compiled. Mr Ude made this allegation on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Thursday, May 2.

The former Presidential media aide, also alleged that the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NSC), Col Hameed Ali made the list. His words:

“Babatunde Fashola’s name is missing in the list of new Buhari’s Ministers being compiled. He is lobbying to return. CG Customs, Col Hameed Ali makes the list and might become defense minister. Hadiza Bala Usman leaving NPA to become Minister,”Ude tweeted.

Recall that it was reported that Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said that Buhari is set to dissolve his

cabinet on May 22. Mohammed said this on Thursday after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo. “The cabinet is still intact, and we are going to have a valedictory service on 22nd of May,” Mohammed

said.  The last session of the FEC will come one week before the swearing-in of President Muhammadu Buhari for his second

term on May 29.

This was reported that ahead of the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office, the race for cabinet appointments has begun. A former Military Administrator, three outgoing governors and 15 ministers are jostling for cabinet seats.

There were indications last night that the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) may be zoned to the North-Central in favour of a Christian candidate. Besides, there is pressure on the President to revert to a 42-man cabinet structure as part of his pledge of inclusiveness.

The new structure will include the constitutionally recommended 36 ministers from each state of the federation and six others representing each of the nation’s geopolitical zones — if Buhari embraces the idea. The President is yet to give a commitment to the 42-man structure, The Nation has learnt.

Lobbyists, including governors and ministers, have been mounting pressure on influential citizens to put in a word for them. Women are said to be demanding more ministerial jobs, including “strategic ministries”. The pressure is said to have accounted for the recommendation of a 42-man cabinet.

A source, who spoke in confidence, said: “Some of those seeking to be ministers include a former Military Administrator, three of the outgoing governors and no fewer than 15 of the over 30 ministers who will complete their tenure on May 22. “As for the three outgoing governors, two may represent their geopolitical zones, depending on the outcome of consultations between the President and leaders from their zones.”

“No fewer than 15 ministers are said to be seeking a second chance because some of them who faltered in office are claiming that they have learnt their lessons. All these ministerial aspirants have been mounting pressure on the members of the Kitchen Cabinet of the President in order to be picked.”

Concerning the ex-MILAD, another source said: “Some forces within the first family are lobbying that the ex-Military Administrator should be made the Chief of Staff but the President seems to have confidence in the present holder, Mallam Abba Kyari.”

Air Peace De-board Passenger For Asking Attendant To Translate Safety Instructions To Igbo Because 'He Does Not Speak English'

Iwarah declared that his de-boarding was necessary in a bid to guarantee the safety of its crew and customers and said it would not tolerate an act that would jeopardise safety on any of its flights. A passenger with Air Peace was today de-boarded by the airline over claims that he could not communicate in English during safety briefing. The passenger identified as Mr. Christopher Aniagboso told the cabin crew to translate the safety briefing for passengers in the over-wing exit seats in Igbo language and not English as is the standard. The airline in a statement by its spokesman, Mr. Chris Iwarah, said that other passengers around him offered to translate what was being said in English to him, but he insisted that the crew must brief him in Igbo language. Besides, Iwarah said that efforts to relocate the unruly passenger from his seat to the other proved abortive despite the intervention of the cockpit crew. He, however, said that the passenger who had earlier on May
